Surman & Ed Kraft (13th), Tim Deneen (23rd), John Neiding (28th), and Sherry
Thompson on the 29th.
2. Summer Picnic/Pig Roast. Special thanks go to the following people for their
help in making this year’s event a great success: Larry Heckelsmiller, Gary
Walters, Glen Gerard (Magician), Ron Grundy, Joe Dorcey, Candice Rothering &
Greg’s Catering in Franksville.
3. National Officer Elections. Thanks to all members that took time to vote
electronically or by mail. Our online voting participation was 25%.
4. Duty Cooks. This month John Surman will be in the galley with a “Surprise”
and next month we have Steve & Sherry Thompson with their world famous “Man
Chili.” We still need volunteers for November & December.
5. Submarine Float Update from the Ship Superintendent, Gary Walters. Here are
the latest pictures of the submarine project. The crew is doing great. The
trailer is in the final planning stages and by the end of this week we will know
just how much we must spend. At the next meeting, the entire construction crew
will give a complete report. We may a few more funds (I am still working on that
each day) and for sure we are going to need more help in the preparation of the
hull prior to fiber glassing. We are working 4 days (M-Th) a week and after
Labor Day, we may be able to work on Saturdays.
